The long-awaited recap post, friends!
I am a little sad that it took me so long to get this one out. These types of posts always seem to take me the longest, which is partly why I think they get moved to the backburner a little too easily.
I’m going to put these recaps on a schedule from now on! I think that will help me to sort of keep a working draft and I can get them out to you more quickly! Goodness, my last recap post was from back in February!

My Biggest Fish
If you’ve been with me awhile, you’ll know about Fishing Fridays. I don’t go every Friday with Kyle, but I do fairly often. We went with our BIL last month and I caught the biggest fish I’ve ever caught – a 45 pound catfish!
What’s extra neat about that number is I hit the slot! Paylakes sometimes have a slot or two where they choose numbers and if you happen to hit the slot, which is generally unlikely you’d hit the exact number, you win the money that’s in that jackpot. We didn’t win very much (and funny enough, we thought we won much more, but that story is for another day, haha!), but we split it and it was a fun conversation the rest of the day!
Not the prettiest photo, but just as the lady who was working at the paylake that day said, “no one is looking at you anyway, they’re looking at the fish!” Ha ha! Oh, and don’t worry, we ALWAYS throw the fishies back in the lake!
Trip to the Mall
I went with my parents last month for some shopping at the mall, and to have lunch at the brand-new Olive Garden that just opened up there.
I have to say, this was the fanciest Olive Garden I think I’ve been to! It had these beautiful, tall ceilings. I regret not getting pictures of anything besides the food – next time! But I had my favorite dish, the five-cheese ziti, and of course ate my weight in salad and breadsticks. 🙂
I always say I’ll try something new, but I never do, haha. Anyone else like that?
We made a stop at the Bath & Body Works in the mall and I stocked up on hand soap. I won’t buy soap from anywhere else, and it’s almost always Black Cherry Merlot. It’s an amazing scent and even Kyle loves it! I tried the new white chocolate macadamia cream cold brew from Starbucks and it was really good!

Sam’s Club Restock
I usually make a monthly Sam’s Club trip to restock, but sometimes it’s every couple of months. While my eyes always get big around some new food items, I am pretty good about sticking to my list!
My go-to’s are toilet paper, paper towels, soda (only when it’s cheaper, lately Kroger has been the cheapest), water, and toothpaste. This time, I picked up Kinder’s Seasoning there too. Have you tried any of those? They’re absolutely delicious and they’ve made Kyle’s meal prep so much tastier!
I recently bought an individual Kinder’s seasoning packet that was fajita flavored to make burrito bowls for my lunches this week, and it’s amazing! I’m actually eating one of those bowls right now – so good! Let me know if you want me to share the recipe!
Day Date
Kyle and I went on a fun day date this past Sunday! We went out to lunch before it got crowded (we are those people, haha!) at Longhorn. It was really good! I have to be honest, we haven’t had the best luck there. Most of our meals before this day were not very good, and definitely not for the price tag. But on this day, it was all amazing!
I got enough food to feed four people, I’m pretty sure, haha. I made multiple meals out of it though, and actually still have a small portion of shrimp and rice in the fridge too. I got the 6 oz. sirloin with grilled shrimp. It came with the rice, and I added mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese (not pictured). All the heavies, haha!
We took Kyle’s baby (love that Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom called it that, she’s exactly right!), a.k.a. his Camaro. I’m not sure if I shared it here, but he got it in late February and just loves it.
All The Yummy Food
Since I let this recap go so long, I don’t think I can put these into order, but decided to share some of the recent yummy lunches I’ve had!
I remember taking this picture at Cracker Barrel when I went with my parents for lunch last month. All the heavies here, haha! My mom and I always get double dumplings in the vegetable plate, they are so good. Always obsessed with my McDonalds insulated cozy, I use it all the time.
My favorite Chick-Fil-A meal: a spicy deluxe, mac and cheese as a side, and a coke. The burger is from a local bbq place that makes the best hamburgers I’ve ever had, so delicious! The BLT salad is a favorite of mine and my FIL’s on our lunch dates, it’s from a fun placed called Patties and Pints.
Oftentimes, I’ll stop at Moe’s on the way home from Sam’s Club and pick up a chicken burrito bowl. So good! Some of you may remember me chatting about Hopeless, if you missed it you can check out my review right here.

Look at my fur babies, Draino and Pepper! There was a time they couldn’t even be in the same room together, and now they like to curl up very close by. It makes me happy!

If you’re going to go out to a place like Longhorn, it’s definitely best to get everything that you can while you’re there.
Camaros are nice cars for sure. There was a time they were my favorite kind of sports cars. My Dad had one.

Ha ha ha! I was working on my Friday recap post last night and I was thinking… wow, I have a lot of food photos. Then I was finishing up my Summer Bucket List post and I thought, wow, I mention food a lot in this too. We both love our fun food (and coffee!), I think. I love the photo of your kitties! I love Black Cherry Merlot too! Although I like to mix it up with lemon and other fruity scents in my kitchen. That fish is amazing! Way to go!
