July’s Let’s Look linkup is here!
In case you missed my other linkups this year, you can see those below:
Summer is my favorite season! I love the longer hours of daylight, warm sunshine, and savoring a little more downtime. My summer self feels a little lighter, not putting as much pressure to do all the things, and intentionally spending time offline and being more present!

Be sure to check out the posts by Shay (Mix and Match Mama) and Erika (A Little Bit of Everything), as well as others at the bottom of Shay’s post!
So grab your coffee (or fave beverage!) and let’s look together at how my summer self is a bit different from other seasons!
I Remember Sunscreen Is Important
Sunscreen is important year-round, but it seems that only my summer self remembers that…after she gets burnt on the golf course caddying for her husband. True story! Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom recommended the Elf Sunscreen Stick and I really wanted to use that this summer, but my Walmart didn’t have it, so I picked up this Banana Boat SPF50 Sunscreen Stick instead. I have to say it did help during his Ohio Amateur Qualifier, except it was 110 heat index and I was worried the sunscreen would just melt so I only applied it before starting the round. I still have a burnt shoulder. So don’t be like me, remember to reapply the sunscreen and keep it on ice if necessary, haha!
Birthday and Anniversary Celebrations
My summer self gets pretty excited come late June because of Kyle’s birthday, and then mine follows the next week in July. Right after our birthday fun, we have our dating and engagement anniversary on the 4th of July! We went to see the fireworks for our first date and then one year later he proposed in the same spot, and he’s been putting up with me for over 12 years now, haha!
I Make More Meals with Fresh Veggies

When the farmer’s market finally opens up in June, my summer self is a happy girl! There is nothing like fresh veggies and you can really tell the difference from grocery store produce. I am excited to try Mix and Match Mama’s Corn Salad recipe with fresh corn this year. I make this recipe all the time with canned corn and it’s delicious, but I just know it will be even better with fresh corn!
I Work on Outdoor Projects
My summer self is usually trying to cram all the outdoor projects into the few months of warmer weather. Every year we declutter and clean the garage, and we also power wash the front porch. The power washing is a much easier job when it’s warm versus waiting until the fall when the temps can be cooler. I also have these dreadful vines that come up underneath our porch every year, so this year I’m determined to keep them cut down often before they get too far out of control. I need a good weed killer that is safe for any animals that could get under the porch!
Iced Coffee Season

I’m sure some of you are giggling because you know every single season (or day!) is iced coffee for me! I couldn’t resist including it here though because it’s just the best, and I know some people do truly only drink it during the warmer months.
I Go Through My Winter Wardrobe
As I switch over to all the summer pieces in my closet, I try to make time to go through my winter pieces to see what I actually wore and what can go into a donation pile.
I Romanticize the Everyday Things
It is so easy to overlook or take for granted some of the everyday things that bring us joy, so my summer self really tries to put an emphasis on those things. Watching a good tv show, curling up in super soft pajamas, the sun shining through my office window, drinking my coffee during the quiet hours of the morning, etc. All these things and more bring a smile to my face, so they are worth romanticizing!
I wrote a post with simple ways to romanticize your summer, in case you missed it!
Mid-Year Reset
Summer is the perfect time for a mid-year reset! I’m staring at my Cultivate Fresh Start Weekly Planner right now and really excited to dive into summer goals and reassess some of the beginning-of-the-year goals I set and see what I’ve accomplished so far. I’ll be filming a plan with me for my YouTube channel with this planner this week, so be sure to check that out if you’re interested!

That’s a wrap on this month’s Let’s Look linkup, sweet friends! This was a fun, seasonal topic and I hope you enjoyed going through this post with me. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments, and how your summer self is a little different from other seasons!
P.S. I think I speak for all of us ladies doing this linkup that we would love to have YOU join us! If you’re a planner like me and would like to know the upcoming topics, check out the graphic below. The linkup is the second Wednesday of every month.

I love all the ways you are enjoying this summer. Thanks for the reminder to stop and smell the roses this season. That corn salad sounds delicious!

Aww, you are so welcome Kathrine, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your summer is off to a wonderful start! The corn salad is definitely a must-make!
I love that you two celebrate your dating and engagement anniversary! I used to do that with Brian in June (moreso our dating anniversary), but the restaurant caught fire and closed, so we kinda stopped! I love all the fresh produce in the summer!!

I’m so sorry that place burned down, that’s awful! I so agree, I’m excited to get some fresh green beans and potatoes (I know you hate green beans, I’m sorry again haha!) to fix soon!
I love summer! Iced coffee season is year-round for me lol

Aww, thanks so much Annie! 🙂 I hope your summer is going fantastic so far!!
I smiled at so many of your summer changes, especially slowing down, enjoying more fresh foods, and embracing a more relaxed pace. There’s something special about summer that makes it easier to focus on the simple joys.
Thank you tons Laura, I’m so happy you enjoyed this one! I’m trying to soak up all the summer things while they’re here, it always goes by way too fast!
This was such a fun post! Y’all have such a fun summer with all those important dates! So cool that you both have birthdays and anniversaries during the summer. And I love the idea of mid-year reset!
Thank you, Lindsay!! It is neat how they are sort of fall within summertime and close together, so we get to have some fun stuff before the season is over. 🙂 I hope you’re having a wonderful summer so far, and I’m excited to catch up on your blog soon! I miss it!
I love that you celebrate your birthdays, dating and engagement anniversaries at the same time – so fun! I am trying to slow down and embrace a more relaxed pace too and am also going through my winter wardrobe!

Thanks so much Kinga, you’re too kind! <3
Love this Ashley, your summer self is serving main character energy with those fireworks and fresh veg hauls! Sunscreen fails are too relatable though. Iced coffee forever, yes please!
Aww, you’re so kind Candice, thank you so much and makes me happy that you enjoyed this one! 🙂 Iced coffee is just the best, isn’t it? Haha!
