Each year brings a new word to symbolize what I want to remain focused on each day.
Today begins a brand-new year and of all days it could fall on, it’s a Monday! While there is nothing particularly magical about the beginning of a new week, it does represent a fresh start. Pair that with the start of a new year, it feels like you’re truly getting off on the right foot.
I took time to reflect last month over 2023 and used that to help put together my list of things I want to accomplish in 2024. I believe there is power in reflection. Sometimes it can be hard to see just how much you’ve accomplished over the course of a year. There also may be things that were on your list of goals that didn’t happen.
Reflection can help you in both circumstances because it not only helps you gain clarity, but it gives you keys to how you can better move forward in the coming year.
I’m excited to share with you the word that I chose for 2024 and a little background on why I chose it!
My Word of The Year
Alignment is my word of the year 2024!
I spent a lot of time this past year determining what was really important to me. I wanted to make more time for those things, but that also led to some tough decisions to weed out what wasn’t serving me well. Sometimes decisions that are best for us aren’t always the easiest to adjust to at first. But later on, you see just how freeing those decisions can be and you’re thankful you finally did it!
As I move into this new year, I’m craving more of a simple, cozy, and peaceful life.
I want to make choices that align with that lifestyle, thus, alignment seemed like the perfect word for me this year. So many wonderful things came together in 2023 and I’ve sort of been piecemealing things here and there. I really want to bring it all together in 2024 the very best that I can. š

It’s a great word to choose for the year. I do not have a word for the year, all I know is I want to learn all the basic things in life as a 30-year-old lady. Like driving, swimming, baking and finding a partner.
