It’s hard to believe that we are in July already!
What’s even harder to believe is that today is my birthday (though you will be reading it a couple days later!) and I’m a whole thirty-three. Some people who know me may think I’m 93 due to my bedtime, happiness of being home, and mostly hanging out with older folks, ha ha!
I decided I would take you through my day in some snapshots below, so grab your coffee (I’m sipping my free Starbucks drink!) and let’s go through this day together!
This is 33
You know you’re starting to get old when you wake up around 4:30 am and realize you missed your next-to-last antibiotics dose by an hour already, haha! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be done with these things. They gave me almost 50 pills total starting last Thursday (day of dental surgery), and the week prior, my regular dentist wrote me a different antibiotic prescription that lasted a whole week as well, but less pills. I’m going to turn into an antibiotic for my birthday!
I took my shower and got ready for the day, but mainly just because I wanted to go get my freebie Starbucks when they opened at 6 AM. I went back and forth between the white chocolate mocha and caramel macchiato, but ultimately decided on the WCM thanks to my hubby helping. While I was out, I picked up my favorite chocolate cupcakes from our local bakery and a frappe for Kyle from McDonalds.
I was going to save opening some of my birthday gifts until later in the day, but the excitement got the best of me so I dug into them around 7 AM! I had two sweet gifts from Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom and a birthday box from my best friend Stephanie. Carrie got me these gorgeous bow slippers that you may remember seeing my bow wish list a little while back, that was so kind of her! She also got me this cute jar filled with bible verses to pick out when I’m having a difficult time. Things have been so kooky lately for me with anxiety, so this is such a perfect, thoughtful gift!
Stephanie filled this box to the brim. She always does too much, but I appreciate it always! I got so many goodies in here, all cozy, comfy favorites. I have been wanting to see Wicked for awhile now, so I’m excited to own it and watch it soon! Also, you all know how much I love The Golden Girls, so this book is going to get me back into reading in a hurry!
Kyle told me I had a surprise coming in the mail, so I was anxiously awaiting 9:30ish and then he said we are going somewhere. You probably remember he likes to surprise me with day trips!
The Surprise
The mail carrier was later than normal, by maybe an hour, so we had to wait a little longer…but it was well worth the surprise! Look at what he got me!
The newest Apple Watch and this beautiful blush band! I am in love! I’ve wanted one ever since I started running so I could keep better track of my stats, but they are so pricey. I also wanted to make sure it’s something I’d stick with before making that sort of purchase. It was so sweet of him to get it for me! Once I get a little more healed up from my surgery, I am very excited to use it for a run and see how it works.
He told me even before I got the watch that it was going to be a two-part surprise and we would have to go somewhere afterwards. Turns out, my old iPhone wouldn’t work with this watch because of the software, so he took me to get the iPhone Pro Max! I was stunned to say the least, haha. We are not have-to-buy-new-tech every year people, I think both of our phones were four-ish years old, but it’s so fun to have a new one. I can’t get over how much larger the screen is!
I really wasn’t sure about the phone case, but hated to bring it home without a case and screen protector, so I found this pretty pink one in the store! Do you think I should get one of those pop socket things for it? I’ve never had one, but was thinking maybe it would be a good idea.
The Rest of the Day
We had a late lunch after getting my phone all set up at the Verizon store and Kyle had golf league afterwards. I love this cheeseburger pizza that my local place does once a year. It’s like a big mac pizza!
I did laundry, tidied up the house, cleaned out the fridge since tomorrow is trash day, and started the dishwasher while he was golfing. I also did some blog work on this post that you’re reading so I could write everything down in real time and get it out to you quicker.

Ugh antibiotics are the worst I hate taking them. But your Birthday sounded wonderful. I recently upgraded to the pro Max after having the same phone for 8 years! My computer at home is 13 years old LOL.
