National Month of Hope

Did you know that April is the National Month of Hope? I didn’t until this year!

I’m not sure how I missed this in prior years, but I’m so thankful I stumbled upon it this time around. If there was ever a time that the world needs hope, it’s right now! In light of finding this out, I wanted to put together a quick blog post to showcase just a few ways that we can spread hope to others.

Be sure to continue these methods far after April, my dear friends, so that others can see your bright light in an often too-dim world. People are inspired by listening and watching others.

That’s often how we share hope with someone even if we aren’t intentionally doing so!

Share Your Story with Others

Sometimes we think that sharing our stories is not welcomed, or very helpful to those we are speaking to. However, I think that’s how we make true connections with one another.

The truth is that there are people who look up to you and you don’t even realize it.

Having heard your story, you may inspire them to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and they can overcome their struggles too.

I want to encourage you to be open, be transparent and know that your story is important. It truly means something. It is going to help someone else soar in their own journey. Also, I think there is something so freeing about releasing what you’ve been through and how you made it through something difficult.

It truly helps you step into your purpose and produce inner growth.

Be a Supporter

There are far too many negative people who have inserted themselves in someone’s inner circle. When you hear repeated phrases that are gloomy in nature, you start to believe them. This is why it’s so important to vet every single person that’s in your circle and to kick out anyone that does not have your best interest at heart.

In addition to analyzing your own circle, you can spread hope to others by making sure that you are a supportive person to those that you are around.

Be someone who encourages others to see what they can’t see within themselves.

A kind word, a smile, a welcoming spirit, reminding them that they can do anything they set their mind to….all of these things and more can truly help someone in their journey.

Be a Good Listener

In order to be a true supporter to others, you have to learn how to be a good listener.

It’s likely that you hold multiple conversations on a daily basis. Sometimes it can be just small talk. Maybe it’s for your line of work, or with loved ones or friends. No matter the type of conversation or how long it may last, part of being in a conversation is to listen to the other person speaking. The difference between hearing and listening can be easily confused.

If you’ve ever felt like someone is hearing the words coming out of your mouth, but yet they really don’t seem to be listening to what you have to say – then you understand where I’m coming from.

I want to encourage you to be an active listener. Sometimes all a person really wants is to get something off their chest. They may not even want you to help them solve an issue they’re struggling with or provide any sort of advice. They may just need a kind, listening ear.

National Month of Hope - Pin

I hope that you found this post to be encouraging and it will inspire you to spread more love and hope to those that are around you!

Wishing each of you the brightest day,

I agree, I was so happy when I discovered it. Thank you so much, Mica, and I completely agree with you. It can mean the whole world to someone who’s going through a difficult time – and we usually don’t even know what someone is going through.

Thank you bunches! This week is off to a great start. I hope your week is going great, too! 🙂

Thanks for sharing about the month of Hope. I didn’t know either, and hope is something we all really need right now. I love all three of these points, it takes courage to share your story, but I agree that it’s beneficial to others even if you don’t know. Being a good listener is a big one too! Have a great rest of the week, my friend:)

• 1 tsp minced garlic
• 1 (15 oz) can chicken broth
• 1 cup water
• 1 (15 oz) can corn — undrained
• 1 (10 oz) can original Rotel — undrained
• 1 (10 oz) can enchilada sauce
